In this Dreaming story, two dog ancestors — a Jampijinpa and a Napangardi — travelled from the west to the east.
At Tapu (a rockhole), they separated: the female, Napangardi, went south, while the male, Jampijinpa, went north. Eventually, Jampijinpa grew lonely and howled for Napangardi, who returned to him. They reunited at Ngarnka, where they married — Jampijinpa adorned himself with white clay, and both wore traditional men’s and women’s marriage headdresses.

They continued east to Warlaku (Ali Curung), where many other dogs already lived in large extended families. Jampijinpa and Napangardi made a burrow and started their own family there, choosing to remain with the others.
This ‘Malikijarra Jukurrpa’ (Two Dogs Dreaming) teaches the importance of family, marriage, and proper relationships.
