Oblong: Wool Cushion Cover – 30 x 40 cm

Rama’s painting depicts a gathering of people attending an inma (ceremony) near Pipalyatjara. The artwork shows wati tjuta, minma, tjiti tjuta, and walytja tjuta — many men, women, children, and families — all sitting, singing, and talking. Each circle in the painting represents an individual, and the community is shown observing and participating in the ceremonial proceedings.

This event takes place in Rama’s homeland, Kuntjanu, a place deeply connected to his identity. Rama has a profound knowledge of the traditional Kuntjanu Tjukurrpa (Dreaming stories), particularly the Wanampi Tjukurpa — the Rainbow Serpent Dreaming — which is a central theme in his work.
